Project Definition, Planning and Solution Design

Before the development and implementation of a solution there has to be a strong base and that is where planning comes in. Before we start coding a website we look at the purpose, objectives, scope, usability requirements and  business requirments of the system. This is the stage we also look at timelines for development and put together the team that will be in charge of the project. At the end of this aspect of the project we should have a proper project plan to start with. The solution design will look at various sub systems like a content plan, site maps, wireframes, functional and technical specifications. With all these documentation it is clear where we need to go and based on the system that we will be using (drupal) we know what modules to use and whether or not we need to create custom modules to allow for custom functionality not yet thought about by the drupal community.
